Entry #11: Experience about blogging

Writing is always a hard subject for me. Actually, when I was in secondary school, I used to be a good student at writing, I even got the second prize at literature competition. But when I went to high school, writing is not my strange anymore and believe me, I don’t know why neither. I know this could be a weakness because in the future, I must write a lot, I have to write for applying scholarship, I have to write for applying a job. So, I know that I should improve this situation. If I’m not good at writing, I can be fallen behind. At first time when I tried to blogging, I was so annoyed and really want to give up, two blog a week plus one essay every two weeks consumed almost my time. But, I still have to write, unless I’ll be failed the course, and that is not good at all. Moreover, I want to bring back my “glory”. So, I just keep writing. People said that sometimes the unexpectable lines make a work of art. The importance is you have to make a move, give an effort, don’t just stand at the same place. Gradually, I realized that writing is not that bad, otherwise, it is interesting. Blogging is learning. Albert Einstein used to say: “If you cannot explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”. So, when you write about any random topic, you make yourself learn, research to have a certain knowledge about that topic, thus you have information to talk and share that information to the other people. By this, you will learn more things while you are blogging. Besides, writing helps me improve my writing skill and grammar. This also expand my relationship, encourage me meeting and talking to people who has the similar idea about something.

As an assignment, I think blog is a good way to help students practice their writing. Because this is considered another platform of social media, it uses for sharing users’ thinking and pictures of daily life or any other topic that users want to talk about or share. So, in this environment where is similar to what they are using for entertainment, students will feel more comfortable to write about a topic that is given. And somehow, this will make their writing better. 

Entry #9: Farming crisis

          Even though in America, there’re plenty of food which are cheap and good spread throughout the country for people’s consumption, but the truth is the country which has the economy leads the world is facing farming crisis and suffering the unsecure food. How can it be possible? Well the reasons lead to this consequence is numerous. Firstly, as the circumstance, the increasing number of crisis of US now is because of the overly reliance to foreign sources of food. The trade deal like North American Trade Deal Agreement has removed almost the tax on goods coming to US from Canada And Mexico. Therefore, American obviously choose the source of food which is not only good but also cheaper than domestic foods. This is understandable that American farmers will gradually give up farming because they have no benefits anymore, maybe only older generation who has sticking with farming for long time could stay, but this is very rear. According to “Is America Facing farming crisis?”, there are only 6% of farmers are under the age of 35.

          Secondly, the condition for young people who wants to develop in agriculture is still limited. According to Ackoff, the national field director, young people who wants to develop a farm facing to a lot of obstacle, such as lacking farmland, money to succeed. Moreover, the agriculture graduated student yearly is more than the labor that the industries needed. And if the government is not doing anything to attract them, these student will not stay with this major. Comparable to China, the number of their farmer is almost equal to the the population of US. 

          Finally, if there's no one who replaces the retire-generation, the US could probably fall into the farming crisis in the recent years. 

Entry #7: Animals’ life inside industries

I’m always so censorious with what I eat daily because I’ve seen many videos and read a lot of information about how the foods are made such as the farmer put a plenty of pesticides to make their vegetables look good with a beautiful color to fool the customers’ visual, make them believe those veggies are good, but actually it’s not, at all. Or to make livestock fatten and to be more benefited, they could cruelly inject chemical into animal and don’t care either about animals’ or consumers’ health. I don’t mean that all farmers or industries is doing that, but the truth is the number of people who risks their customers’ health to make money is not small. After watching video “Fresh”, I certainly sure about those. The tone of the video is kind of going to the negative side of the issue but we must admit that is the true and it is happening. The way farmers treat animals which are customer’s foods is not carefully, this is sympathetic, because they have numerous animals to take care of, it would not be like taking care of our pets, that is of course. But too negligent like what’s shown in the video is unacceptable. They could even feed living cows by unclean food like dead cows just to save money and putting aside the safety of the consumer. This video also tells the audiences the consequences of doing and eating those. I think the purpose of this video is warning people who doesn’t care about what they eat or just eat whatever convenient that what they’ve eaten could be a pathogen of some serious diseases and affects directly to their health to think carefully before they eat something. Or how significant of knowing the origin of food they are going to consume. Personally, it impacts me a lot, it makes me thinking more about what I’ve eaten, moreover, it encourages me to grow everything by myself J that is the safest way.

Entry #10: Cheating

            Nowadays, studying is the significant issue for individual and country because that is the foundation of a develop country. A good score always is the advantaged in many circumstances such as making a good impress for the first interview or be under pressure of parents, teacher. Therefore, student chose cheating to satisfy those, but besides, forget the real knowledge that they need to learn. There are many reason cause cheating, but majority is the conscious of student. Anyway, no matter what reason cause cheating, it should be criticized and eliminated.

              The very first reason is students are under pressure of getting high points, which is caused by their parents’ expectation and their teachers’ evaluation. Almost parents are putting a huge expectation on their children as schooling is an only way to help them have a better life. It is responsible burden that causes students depend on cheating. In my country, almost student go study with teacher outside school. It means they have to do homework from school, homework of extra study class, this could easily drive students go crazy and don’t have enough time for materials from school. This indirectly lead to cheating.

Secondly, the competition between them and their classmates frequently happening that make them behave morally wrong in their tests. They compete seriously point by point to each other and cheating such as plagiarism and using documents is a common way that helps them escape from being dumb in others’ eyes. People always have a thinking is make self be better than others, that is a good motivation if students understand clearly this purpose. But some students just want to get high score by any cost.

Finally, both of top students and low score students put a huge effort on their studies to get a high score which put them under pressure. When high academic performance students try to maintain their scores, other students having low scores put all their effort on improving their results. This is a common pressure that many students suffer; Therefore, they use cheating as an ideal equipment. Moreover, self-confidence deficits play an important role in causing students try their best to cheat. High score is not only important with their parents’ perspective, but also their teachers and society. When they did not prepare for their test themselves, they feel it safe to have supports from other trustworthy resources like documents and classmates.

Dishonest in testing is very dangerous. This could lead to serious consequences. Once caught cheating, students could probably fail the test, the course, even expelled of school. Then that will be a dirty in transcript. Moreover, as cheating happens frequently, it becomes a bad habit that they could not complete the test without cheating.

Cheating is completely not good. Students sometime just try to focus on how to cheating and not being caught then forget about another easier way to get high score, that is study! We should concern if we too depend on the achievement and ignore the knowledge we could absorb then decide cheating, the result will be meaningless. To eliminated this issue is not easy. The only way to do that is the attempt awareness of each student. Trying not to cheat to have a better education, a better life.
